Provide materials engineering skills for technical review and analysis to select materials or provide recommendations for corrosion control and failure avoidance involving gas and chemical plants; refining, chemical process environments, corrosion mitigation, metallurgy and failure analysis. Utilize computer programs/tools to develop specifications and drawings Manage or participate in any potential root cause analysis of fixed equipment failures Provide guidance on equipment repairs including weld procedures, heat treatment and material selection Provide short-term, hands-on troubleshooting of corrosion related equipment problems Assist in defining operating boundaries for equipment and units Provide direction to inspection programs and procedures based on knowledge of corrosion and failure mechanisms in refining equipment Provide direction on selection/monitoring of corrosion control chemicals & programs from vendors Provide written and/or verbal presentations to a project team Work within a routine office environment, with some international field work REQUIREMENTS Bachelor Engineering Degree, with metallurgy related work experience. Prefer degree in Metallurgy, Corrosion Engineering or Materials Science. PE; Professional Engineering License preferred (or, willingness to obtain licensing) Average experience is 10+ years, but would consider a 5 yrs. experience within PROCESS PLANT or MATERIALS SELECTION ENGINEERING background and some background in life prediction for onshore/offshore petrochemical or related facilities. Requires a general knowledge of chemical process plant equipment, piping and/or processes. Strong interest and desire to develop a long-term career path within materials engineering Solid written/verbal communications Ability to work independently and under direction, as well as collaboratively by applying interpersonal and networking skills.
